Toast bar at Westbury
We offer pupils a slice of hot buttered toast at breaktime and ask for a donation of 20p for this (£1 per week). This money helps us cover costs and any profit goes back into school funds. Pupils can give this donation to their class teacher or parents can give money to Mrs Cox, the school administrator.
Teachers and Teaching Assistants toast the bread in classrooms and serve it up to the pupils during the morning. Pupils are encouraged to spread their own butter and help with this task.
We offer toast in the morning to support pupils learning and concentration. If children are hungry, it impacts on their ability to learn. See the link below for more information on this.
